Communion at home
Did you know that it is possible to have Holy Communion brought to people's homes? This is most often done for those who are sick, but we are very willing to bring Communion to those who are housebound for whatever reason, or simply to call in to visit. If you or somebody you know would like to receive Communion at home, or a visit from a member of the ministry team, please call Eleanor, our vicar, on 01353 725948.
We also take Holy Communion to the residents of Millbrook House, Soham Lodge and Fairhaven Nursing Homes once a month (normally on the first Wednesday or Thursday of each month) and these services are open to residents and non-residents alike.
At all these services, bread and wine that has already been consecrated is distributed, symbolising that those receiving home communion are part of the wider church family. As we say on Sundays: "We are one body, because we all share in one bread."
